The Call of Agon: Book One of The Children of Telm

The Call of Agon: Book One of The Children of Telm - Dean F. Wilson Is the story plot or character driven? This reader felt that it was character driven. Readers are fully aware of the plot from beginning to end but the entry and exit of each character gives much meaning to each scene and you know the story won't be the same if a single character was excluded. One thing I do not understand is the role of Aralus. Until the end it wasn't very clear to me but maybe this is one of the loose ends for the second book in the series.

Favourite scene …. When Delin says, "Day is the Comforter." The sense of desperation is obvious and as they travelled during the night, the darkness that night brought was a depiction of how they felt. I loved the play of words.

Favourite quote … "Sometimes it is swayed before the swayer has any say." and I also liked "You watch me with uneasy eyes ." For many of us at the book club, it felt like a storyteller was narrating the story to us, it had its own tune and I applaud the author's efforts at pulling this off.

Disclosure - As a Quality Reads Book Club member, I received a free copy of this book from the author via Orangeberry Book Tours in exchange for my honest review.
